Lookdown

Latin Name:  Selene vomer

General Size:  9" x 9"

The lookdown is actually found in the same family as the jacks -family Carangidae. These predators avoid becoming prey by having a mirror-like silvery appearance and having a highly compressed body thus greatly reducing their head-on profile. They can often be observed in schools hunting small fishes and shrimp.
