Black Sea Bass

Latin Name:  Centropristis striata

General Size:  13" x 3.5"

The black sea bass is a member of the grouper family (Serranidae) and is commonly found in shallower coastal waters on rocky bottoms or structure. It is a favorite among those fishing from headboats because they are relatively easy to catch and fairly abundant.
